Walt Disney World’s newest ride is Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway and based on wait times, it’s a hit! While nobody likes long lines, there are those with special needs who are unable to handle long waits. The good news is you can use DAS on Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway.

Some of the most recent rides that have opened at Disney’s Hollywood Studios have not had Fastpass+ lines available leaving many wondering if you could use a DAS for Smuggler’s Run or a DAS for Rise of the Resistance. Both of these attractions required a few extra steps to use a DAS.

With Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway, Fastpass+ is available making DAS on Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway work the same as it does at other rides and attractions. Simply obtain a DAS pass for Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway and your party will be sent up the Fastpass+ line once your return time passes.

Where To Get Your DAS for Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway

DAS On Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway 2

Just like any other DAS pass, you can get your pass from attendants at the front of the attraction, or, from any of the Guest Experience booths around the park. Due to the high level of crowds, our recommendation is to get your DAS from one of the Guest Experience booths rather than the front of Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway. These Guest Experience booths are often faster to get your DAS from and do not require you to be near the attraction.

Preshow Warning for Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway DAS

For some with a sensory processing disorder, a preshow with large crowds can be overwhelming. The DAS for Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway will send you up a Fastpass+ line and then merge you into a regular line right before the preshow area. This area is a room where 50-60 people are put into a smaller room where a cartoon is played on the big-screen ending with a loud sound and simulated smoke.

Once this show concludes, you will walk into the loading area which also contains a short queue line as you load into the vehicles. This line moves quick and you will be on the ride in less than 5 minutes at this point.

If the preshow experience may be too intense, speak with a Cast Member at the front of the attraction for additional accommodations.

What Is A DAS Pass and How Do I Get One?

A DAS pass is a Disability Access Service pass. It is for individuals who have autism, sensory processing disorder, and/or any other sensory-related or hidden disabilities. These individuals are unable to handle large crowds or loud noises in enclosed spaces, making queue lines difficult. With a DAS, the individual and their party are given a time equal to the current wait time to come back and go through the Fastpass+ line. This essentially allows those with a DAS to queue outside of the line in a more comfortable and accommodating setting. Head over to our Disability Access Service article to learn more about this amazing program.
