There are many free things to do at Walt Disney World for free during Christmas. One of our favorites is the Disney Springs Christmas Tree Trail. The tree trail is a newer addition to the many things to do at Disney for Christmas and it takes place at Disney Springs Marketplace.
The Disney Springs Christmas Tree Trail features 23 themed Christmas trees decorated & themed with many different themes. The trail is open 7 days a week from 11am to 11pm. While the trail looks great both during the day and in the evening, our opinion is that the evening can be much more exciting. We like to grab a bite to eat at one of the quick-service restaurants in Disney Springs then head over to the tree trail. The crowds during the busy Christmas season can be overwhelming, so try to plan out the best time to visit Disney Springs during the Christmas crowds.
In addition to all the trees, the trail also has an egg nog stand, a popcorn stall with special Christmas popcorn buckets and snow, well, bubbles pretending to be snow since this is Florida.
What is a Christmas event without the ability to meet Santa! The Disney Springs Christmas Tree Trail also has a Santa meet and greet. Best of all, this meet and greet goes off appointment times so you are not standing in line for a long time. No need to stand in a massive line to see Santa. Instead, simply visit the podium, give them your mobile phone number and you will get a text when it’s your time to meet Santa. You can use this time to shop, enjoy some hot chocolate and more. Realize though that the wait time for Santa can be quite long so make sure you get on the list early. When we went, the wait time was upwards of 3 hours.
